pronto
October 21st, 2008
pronto is our nifty new way to find flights, hotels and restaurants. Enough with all the little boxes and form-filling! One simple box where you enter what you need. We’ll soon be extending it to add city breaks, package holidays, theatre tickets and all kinds of other products.
Try it out at pronto.lastminute.com
You can enter things like “Paris on Friday”, “I’d like a 5 star hotel on 10 November in Gran Canaria for 3 nights”, “table for two in Covent Garden this evening.”
This is quite a new idea and we’re tweaking it all the time, so we’d love to hear what you think. Leave us a comment below or email searchpronto at googlemail.com.

Ian Chambers says...It’s certainly innovative and as long as you follow the cues/instructions it works very well – the flickr integration is very impressive. Keep on pushing that envelope guys…

Anonymous says...Brilliant idea. The promps are easy to use.
So much faster than anything I have tried before. I hope you are finding all the best prices.
It’s just a pity that the main lastminute site has unnecessary accessiblity problems. I never use it.

Sheri Hatfield says...Very nice and easy. But limited search. Couldn’t find a hotel in Hays Kansas!

gillie says...i love what it plans to be but its not quite there yet. I wanted to book flights from rome to paris and it couldn’t handle it. And then I wanted to book hotels in paris and rome and when I followed the prompts to make sure my text made sense to pronto it came back with no results…nice idea but the results were zero on my attempts. Can’t wait to see the production version

Anonymous says...Took me much longer to fill the bar in than a normal form with simple drop down menus.
Unneccessary and pointless.

Anonymous says...You should add the possibility of searching a flight without having to add the city.
Sometimes I have some time off and want to travel somehere, anywhere, but there is no seach engine that I can put just the dates and max amount I’m willing to pay that shows me suggestions of places to go.

Tino Gonzalez Lacoste says...Very innovative, however on asking for a quote for a ticket from Las Palmas to Gatwick on the 30th of January it failed to show me the EasyJet flights. Some of the prices shown (with Aero Lineas Argentinas and Iberia) were hundres of pounds over the top. A very useful tool if it worked properly. Unfortunately at the moment it may very well work against you if it turned customers off by the over the top prices quoted.

DAVID GRINDLAY says...It would help if you could enter a particular hotel in the search engine.
I find your website hit and miss. If you don’t put the right data, you can’t always find what you want. I’ve had megga problems lately because I’ve been told there’s no availability in one format and then there is in another. That’s not good for Last Minute as you will potentially loose business. For example, I’ve lloked for a particulat hotel on the site today and there was no trace. Yet when I did a google search, the very hotel came up as one of yours. I think you need to look at your search engine.

beth schneider says...I think this website is the worst. Not only has your company charged my credit card 2x but i’ve been on hold for over 35 minutes waiting for a manager. If I don’t have a person respond to me within 24 hours i will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and a lawyer

Marko Balabanovic says...Hi Beth, Very sorry to hear about the problems you’ve had. We’d like to help out but we need to find out some more about your order. Would you be able to get in touch with us directly at lastminutelabs at googlemail.com?

Anonymous says...I got an error today – so will pop back soon! Oh and Beth, nothing like making a threat, is there. What a great way to make Lastminute really want to help you. Sad.

C Bowden says...The Manchester homepage was a good idea, as the site tends to be very southern centric and is generally more expensive from Northern airports.
However, it is ruined by its execution, the frankly insulting post-it-notes/drop down lists and assumption that Northerners talk like idiots and only understand idiot speak. Its comparable to us Northerners thinking that all Southerners sound like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins and using it without irony, thinking that you would be so charmed by our puckish wit that you would spend inordinate sums of money on a holiday overlooking that they are usually cheaper from different airports.
In addition, the dropdown airport default on the page is still Londo

lastminutelabs says...Hello – we’re sorry you’re not charmed by our wit, puckish or not! It is just a bit of fun really, and not really a North/South thing.
We’ve passed your feedback about the default airport back to our travel team.
If you ever are down South let us know and we can buy you a beer and hear more honest Northern feedback.

Phil says...It’s pretty much useless really, since, like the main Hotel search option, you can’t narrow the search by price range, star rating, or facilities. Why is this, and why on Earth does lastminute think it is good business practice to limit available search options so that customers are forced to view a whole lot of properties that are of no interest? If I want to book a 5 Star Hotel with a Pool I’m not interested in looking at 2 star budget motels, so why do you make me? Not smart guys!

Kim says...Great! But the words move too fast to read them when you hover on the map. But otherwise love it!

Sarah says...The site would have been fun but the language was Black Country not brummie. For those of you thinking I’m racist The Black Country is actually an area outside of Brum.
